The books I’ve read this month are quite few but they have had the opportunity to tear me down and put me back together again. They have opened my eyes to death in different sects and what it means to fear it, overcome it or be consumed by it. It has shown me the true meaning of love and what it means to love the way God loves.
Letters of Grace by T.Bell is a beautiful christian book that talks about young love, good relationships and a hard marriage. It shows the dynamics of what hurt untreated and festered wounds can cause. It shows a typical relationship with a person who runs away because of fear and one who refuses to chase because of Pride.
How many of us have thrown relationships away because we are stifled by pride and refusing to do something as simple as apologise? And how many of us have run away because we refuse to fight for something worth having?
This book shows the technicalities of the struggles relationships go through and how our reactions and actions determine what course our relationships take. Overall, a solid 2.5/5.
My heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Wanga
Suicide is such a touchy topic and I must admit, one I've thought about quite often. At this juncture, it is important to explain that I do not believe in Sucide but in all honesty, it's been an open possibility for years.
This book is about two teenagers who plan to kill themselves on the same day. It explains sucide in a way in which I have always viewed it, a thing of bravery. While Sucide is always portrayed as the coward's way out, I believe it takes a certain amount of bravery to make the decision and actually follow through with it.
It follows a character who wants death to hide and another who is determined he deserved death and sees it as just punishment. Thankfully, the end of the story is better than the beginning. A solid 2/5.
A Crown of Chains by Erin Phillips
This book is a retelling of the story of Esther but more in a fantasy way and fantastical world. This particular retelling is unique and unexpected. Mind you, I think there may be some discrepancies with what originally happened as well as some insights to the harsh conditions a woman like Esther was forced to live in. Esther is a woman of bravery and that is shown beautifully in this book. A solid 3/5.
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.
This book is a prime example of why I am so interested in reading books this year. It has taken me months to finish it up but I am relieved it's done and over with and hopefully, I'll be able to re-read it much faster this year. This book states rules and principles explicitly that are needed to help you in your relationships with me. For me, it's more about how to be a better person in general and to apply that to every area in my life. It’s a perfect read. A 5/5. Highly recommend!
And now, to my favourite books of the month, two books in the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers is literally a gem and I do not say it lightly. These two books follow the same characters: A Voice in the Wind and Echoes of Darkness. These books bespoke fear, faith and bravery. It is the very definition of the love of God and it shows why the love of God is infinite. Love cannot be confined to space or time. It is beyond any and every thing. Don't take the love of God lightly and be careful with his people. God doesn't joke about those he calls his own, especially you. Definitely a 10/5. I would highly recommend it if you struggle with relationships, anger or people with anger problems or even just life. It won't solve the problem but it'll open your eyes to the solution, all you need is to ask God how to apply it.

I love his wife. I really do. I don't have very much to say but it was an insightful peep into history.
Fool me once
This is a mystery series based off a book and in my opinion, it was a beautiful demonstration of what love isn't and how stupefied I can still be by the depths of human depravity. Overall, a good time with watching it and an 8/10.
I learned so much in January, from forgiveness to love. January was beautiful!🤭
