Being Reactive.
With recents events happening all around me, I’m realising that we are as a country, society and as individual people are often reactive and not proactive.
We only want to keep our friendships when they’re slipping away. We only ever know the value of a relationship when it’s either gone or not as present.
We are reactive.
And while there are somethings we can only ever react to, like a betrayal we couldn’t see coming or a more excellent grade than you expected, we will always have things to react to. Even that warm proposal that you might get soon.
However, I’m focusing on us being reactive in terms of doing things. We procrastinate until the very end and then do stuff in a hurry and maybe a little badly.
We only react when we see that even though we’ve been trying up until this point, it only takes one second to do that one thing and only one second for the reality of being in one place for too long to hit and when it does, it hits hard.
I want to procrastinate less and do more right now rather than finding excuses for not reading or writing or calling. Do things that you can do right now.
“So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.”Romans 9:16.
Depend wholly on God on your journey to be proactive about him, your life, relationships, growth and everything else.
So then “With God, nothing is impossible.” Luke 1:37. It might be a little difficult to break old habits but you can do it and I can do it. It might take a while but we can do it and we will.
🫶🏼 things I’m learning:
You can use the word parity like this, “Fighting for parity in school will forever blow my mind.”
Sleep is important, no matter how often you do it, it’s a gift.
Consistency is a gift, treat it as such. Lost my streak on the Bible app recently and I’m not sad anymore, I promise.🥹
