We have the power to do things. We can do what we set our minds to do and yet we find ourselves unable to do those very things. It’s something we call Procrastination. We want to do something and lose the ability, nerve, and will to do it.
One of the hardest things to do is actually do things. We can plan, romanticise and create the best spreadsheets for productivity and successfully fail at it completely. I’ve been there, watching hundreds of videos about productivity and self-development while conveniently doing nothing to be productive. An endless and unproductive cycle.
You get lazy, push things till the last minute, rush and do a shoddy job then get angry, pissed or sad about it. Like I said, an endless cycle unless you break it. We have the power to make decisions and it is ultimately the quality of our decisions that determine the kind of life that we live.
When it comes to executing our plans, we can get anxious when we get to the point where we ought to do it or we can overthink so much we refuse to do something that we want to do.
It happens to me all the time. I overthink when it comes to the content that I want to post with all kinds of questions floating through my mind. The key to execution is the key to writing; JUST DO IT.
It sounds horrible advice given that the problem is you lacking the ability to do it but just bite the bullet and worry later. In other words, don’t worry before you have to. That post, video, or article may not be at its best and maybe you don’t have a huge following or supportive family to convince you that you are good at what you do. But, you have you and if you thought up the concept then you can be sure you have the ability to be 100% sure you can deliver.
If you’re studying and you feel essentially hopeless then still do it. Go ahead with reading even when you feel like nothing is going your way. The key to execution is to first believe you can do it and then just do it.
The more I say it, the more ridiculous it sounds to my ears and it may feel as though all your problems have been minimised. But the biggest problem with anyone is the inability to do things regardless of what is holding us back. However, doing it regardless of whatever thoughts or doubts have been holding you back is for sure the greatest victory.

🗣 A lil’ life update
I’m an advocate of doing things afraid. However, I want to change that phrase a little bit. It is more than doing it afraid, it is doing it with faith. I think doing it afraid is good but sometimes, there is no hope when we do. But when we do it with faith, we have confidence that in the midst of fear, we have a God that is more than enough. We have someone that will help us see possibilities in the impossibilities.
